Swiss luxury watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen celebrated the grand opening of its new concept Kuala Lumpur boutique at Pavilion in Malaysia with an exclusive cocktail event.

Over 150 specially invited guests and media representatives gathered at the Pavilion boutique, to mark the grand opening of IWC’s new concept boutique. The evening began with a welcome address by local Malaysian personality and emcee Mr. David Yee, followed by welcome speeches by Mr. Sharan Valiram, Executive Director of Valiram Group, and Mr. Matthieu Dupont, Managing Director of IWC South East Asia.

“We are pleased to meet the IWC enthusiasts in Kuala Lumpur’s luxury Pavilion mall tonight, for the unveiling of the new boutique concept. This boutique is the first in South East Asia to completely incorporate the new IWC concept, an embodiment of IWC’s core values of innovation and engineering excellence. With the support of the Valiram Group, we aim to provide a welcoming atmosphere for long-time watch connoisseurs and new admirers alike,” said Mr. Matthieu Dupont, Managing Director of IWC South East Asia.

“Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is not only popular among Kuala Lumpur’s society influencers, it is also an exceptional location for high-end shopping. With the new concept of this wonderful boutique, we believe that discerning Malaysians, watch aficionados and connoisseurs who truly savour and appreciate such mechanical masterpieces can enjoy IWC timepieces leisurely,” said Mr. Sharan Valiram, Executive Director of Valiram Group.

The speeches were followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mr. Dupont, Mr. Valiram and Ms. Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, officiating the grand opening of the new concept IWC boutique. Guests were then invited inside to experience the new boutique concept and into the fascinating worlds of the IWC watch families, including the key novelties from the new 2014 Aquatimer collection.

Located within the prestigious Pavilion, Malaysia’s premier luxury shopping mall and a key shopping destination for visitors to the capital, the newly renovated boutique extends over an area of 63-square-metres, and was IWC’s first stand-alone boutique in Kuala Lumpur since its inauguration in 2007. Operated by the Valiram Group, it symbolizes the continuation of the long-standing and successful partnership between IWC and the Valiram Group, one of Southeast Asia’s leading luxury goods and specialist retailers.

The boutique, designed by IWC’s in-house team of archi- tects and designers, provides an exceptional and sophisticated setting for the six watch families from Schaffhausen. Guests entering the boutique are welcomed by a comfortable lounge area with a fireplace and an intriguing library.

Using dark wood, chrome steel and leather, IWC’s in-house architects have created an elegant atmosphere reflecting the clean lines of IWC’s fine watchmaking. The unique architecture provides the ideal backdrop for the collection. Every attention is given to fine detailing and craftsmanship, which further emphasizes the technical pioneering spirit for which IWC is globally renowned. A unique attraction for visitors is the range of Boutique Editions, available exclusively in IWC boutiques worldwide.
