The relaxed elegance of the Spring Summer 2020 runway collection extends to the season’s statement accessories. Artisanal craftmanship comes through in two new bags, Daria and Darryl, while Daisy platform sandals and Diane boots stand out for their grounded sophistication. The latest jewellery creations integrate delicate crystals with bolder metalwork forms.
The Bags
Echoing the masculine and feminine contrasts throughout the collection, Daria is a structured yet supple day bag constructed with asymmetrically-cut leather in new grain and shiny calfskin. A handcrafted braided handle creates a recognizable design feature, while adding to the multiple carrying options. On the inside, a Chloé monogram lining in textured cotton jacquard interprets an Art Deco-inspired Chloé motif.
Darryl’s rounded hobo shape boasts a looped leather outline – a savoir-faire adornment that complements its everyday attitude. On one side, a single golden ring defines the bag as a contemporary Chloé flourish.
The Shoes
As a single or double-strap platform sandal, Daisy offers height and wearability in equal measure. Proposed in a variety of leather finishes – from shiny or brushed calfskin to metallic – this statement shoe combines a slender silhouette with a semi-transparent, bold rubber lug sole.
Diane, a low-heeled ankle boot, draws inspiration from a men’s jodhpur. Warm metal detailing and a narrow shape keep the attitude feminine and the design chic. Whether in classic tones with patina effect, or earthier shades, both shoes build upon codes that are resolutely Chloé.
The Jewellery
Marrying lacquered metal stones with Swarovski strass, the new Denise collection appears at once bold and precious. Pieces vary in form – from elegant cuffs and chokers to more delicate pendants and solitaire-style rings – and come in colours such as dove gray, dusty coral and aquamarine.
Daria shares similar materials and construction as Denise, except that a literal twist to the silhouettes gives off a noticeable edge. Hammered metalwork with thorn-like points gives way to crystal drops of in cobalt blue, pale pink and bronze.
Dollee asserts maximum character thanks to eclectic, vaguely organic forms ornamented with lacquer or strass. Across the range – which includes collars, cuffs, drop earrings – the galvanized metal contours accentuate a luxurious effect.
The Sunglasses
First spotted on the SS20 runway, Dree arrives as a modern, chic silhouette featuring a new, multi-lens concept. As a wayfarer style with an upturned silhouette, this new frame stands out for its desertinspired, tone-on-tone palette and curving metal temples.
